Melrose Area Community Education and Pine Villa/St. Michael’s Nursing Home are proud to co-sponsor a Certified Nurses Assistant/Home Health Aide Program for adults. This state certified program is 84 hours of classroom and clinical instruction. Classroom training is held at the ALC/Stearns County Offices Building, 114 First Avenue SW in Melrose. Clinical training takes place at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose or St. Michael’s Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. *All registration materials should be returned to Community Education, which is located at Melrose High School, 546 5th Avenue North East, Melrose, MN 56352, this is not the CNA class location.
Ms. Char Wold and Ms. Linda Strom, both RNs and licensed Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Instructors, teach this medical training program. Training is scheduled for six hours from 3:30— 9:30 p.m. Attendance is mandatory for the full five weeks of training in order to receive certification.
The cost of the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Program is $445.00, payable upon registration. *Included in this fee is $20 for a background check, upon passing the background check, you will be qualified to participate in the class. The state testing fee is $150.00, payable upon taking the State Certified Test. Once you have passed all requirements, and once employed in a long term care nursing home, these fees are reimbursed by the employer. The first 10 paid registrants are enrolled in this class.
